Botox Treatment (Neuromodulator)
Neuromodulator injections — best known by the brand name Botox — relax the specific muscles that crease the skin when you frown, squint, or raise your brows. The result, done well, is a rested, refreshed face that still moves naturally.
How it works
A tiny quantity of purified botulinum toxin is injected into precisely chosen facial muscles. Within 3–7 days those muscles soften their pull, and the lines they cause — frown lines, forehead rows, crow's feet — smooth out. It can also slim a wide jaw (masseter), lift brow tails, and reduce excessive sweating.
The Dr. Thaj approach
Botox is a doctor-only procedure at every branch. Dosing is deliberately conservative and mapped to your facial anatomy — the goal is that colleagues say you look fresh, not that they ask what you had done. Your first review is at two weeks, where any fine-tuning is done free of guesswork. Botox is currently performed at our Coimbatore clinic — confirm scheduling at your nearest branch when booking.
Results & maintenance
Results appear within a week, peak at two weeks, and typically last 3–4 months. With regular maintenance the treated muscles weaken their creasing habit, and many patients find they need sessions less often over time.
Who it’s for — and who it isn’t
Botox suits dynamic lines — creases that appear when you move your face: frown lines, forehead rows, crow’s feet. It also treats a wide jaw from teeth-grinding (masseter reduction), a gummy smile, chin dimpling, and excessive underarm or palm sweating. It is not the answer for lines that are visible at rest (those usually need skin boosters or resurfacing), for sagging skin (see thread lift or HIFU), or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you have a neuromuscular condition, tell your doctor — it changes the decision.
Your session, step by step
After your consultation and consent, the doctor maps your muscle pattern — asking you to frown, raise your brows, smile — and marks injection points. The injections themselves use an insulin-grade needle and take 10–15 minutes; most patients describe each point as a brief pinprick. Aftercare is simple: stay upright for 4 hours, skip the gym and facials for 24 hours, and don’t rub the treated areas. Makeup is fine the next day. Effect begins at day 3–5 and is complete by two weeks, when we review and fine-tune if needed.
Botox or fillers — or both?
They are frequently confused and completely different. Botox relaxes muscles so movement lines stop forming; fillers restore volume where the face has hollowed. A 40-year-old with frown lines and flattening cheeks often benefits from a small dose of each — what aesthetic medicine calls a liquid refresh. At your consultation the doctor tells you plainly which applies to your face, in what order, and what can wait.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Botox make my face look frozen?
Not when dosed and placed correctly. The frozen look comes from over-treatment. We deliberately dose conservatively and map injections to your anatomy — you keep natural expression, minus the deep creases.
What are the side effects of Botox?
Common and temporary: pinpoint bruising, mild headache for a day or two. Uncommon and avoidable with proper technique: a temporary heavy brow or eyelid droop, which wears off as the product does. Serious reactions at cosmetic doses are rare. Technique and anatomy knowledge are the safety margin — which is why it is doctor-only at our clinics.
Do men get Botox?
Increasingly, yes — masseter slimming, frown lines, and sweating control are the most requested. Male dosing differs (stronger muscles need more units, placed differently), which the doctor accounts for.
Can Botox treat jaw clenching and teeth grinding?
Yes — masseter Botox is one of the most effective treatments for bruxism-related jaw pain and for slimming a square jawline, with results lasting 4–6 months.
Can Botox lift my sagging skin?
No — Botox softens movement lines but does not lift. For laxity, HIFU or a thread lift is the honest recommendation, and we will tell you so rather than sell you the wrong treatment.
At what age should I consider Botox?
There is no fixed age. Preventive use in the late 20s and 30s can stop lines from etching in; corrective use works at any age. A consultation gives you an honest recommendation — including “not yet” if that is the truth.
Is Botox safe?
Botulinum toxin has decades of safety data at cosmetic doses when administered by trained doctors. Side effects like mild bruising at injection points settle within days. It is a doctor-only procedure at Dr. Thaj Clinic — never delegated.
How long does a Botox session take?
About 15–20 minutes after your consultation. You can return to work immediately, with simple precautions for the first day which your doctor explains.
How much does Botox cost at Dr. Thaj Clinic?
Cost depends on the areas treated and units needed. At your consultation the doctor examines you, recommends a plan, and explains its full cost upfront — before anything begins.
