Results & maintenance
Most HA fillers last 9–18 months depending on the product and area. Under-eye and lip work typically needs refreshing sooner than cheek or jaw structure. Your plan tells you what to expect per area.

Who it’s for — and who it isn’t
Fillers suit volume loss, hollows, and structural refinement at any adult age. They are not the tool for widespread sagging (HIFU or threads address that), for skin-quality problems like dullness or open pores (see skin boosters and pore treatments), or during pregnancy. Active skin infection in the area means we wait. And if your goal photograph is another person’s face, expect an honest conversation about what suits your own anatomy.
Your session, step by step
Numbing cream sits for 20 minutes (most modern fillers also contain lidocaine). Placement takes 15–30 minutes per area, using fine needles or blunt cannulas depending on the zone — cannulas dramatically reduce bruising in areas like the under-eye. You see the change immediately, with final settling over two weeks. Aftercare: no massage, saunas, or strenuous exercise for 48 hours. A review at two weeks confirms symmetry and settling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will fillers look natural?
That is the entire discipline. We under-fill and review rather than over-fill and regret — volume is restored where your face has actually lost it, guided by your bone structure. Subtle lift, normal movement.
What if I don't like my filler result?
Hyaluronic-acid fillers are dissolvable with hyaluronidase — an enzyme that removes the product within days. It is the safety net that makes HA fillers the only category we recommend for most first-time patients.
Will lip filler look obviously done?
Only if over-volumised. We size lip filler to your facial proportions and build gradually — hydrated and defined reads as natural; duck lips read as filler. You approve the plan before we begin.
How soon before a wedding or event should I get fillers?
Ideally 4–6 weeks ahead — results have fully settled, any bruising is long gone, and there is time for a fine-tune review. Avoid trying fillers for the first time in the week before a big event.
What are the risks of dermal fillers?
Common and temporary: swelling and bruising for a few days. The serious risk — vascular occlusion — is rare and overwhelmingly associated with untrained injectors who don't know facial vascular anatomy. Doctor-only injection, cannula techniques in high-risk zones, and dissolvable products are how that risk is managed properly.
Are fillers safe?
In trained medical hands, hyaluronic-acid fillers have a strong safety record — and unlike permanent fillers, they are dissolvable if ever needed. Vascular complications are rare and almost always linked to untrained injectors, which is why this is a doctor-only procedure at our clinics.
Fillers or Botox — which do I need?
They do different jobs: Botox relaxes lines caused by muscle movement; fillers replace lost volume. Many plans combine both. The consultation sorts out which applies to your face.
Is there downtime?
Minor swelling or bruising at injection points for a few days, easily covered. Most patients return to normal activity the same day.
