Laser Treatment
What is LASER?
LASER stands for “Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation”. Lasers work by producing an intense beam of bright light that travels in one direction. The laser beam cut, seal or vaporize skin tissue and blood vessels. It has the unique ability to produce one specific colour (Wavelength) of light; we can vary the intensity and pulse duration as required.
Ordinary light from non-laser sources is composed of many different colours and appears white. The wavelength and power output of a particular laser typically determines its medical application.
When laser light beams at skin tissue, its light energy gets absorbed by water and pigments found in the skin. All living cells have water in large amounts. Pigments of the skin include hemoglobin, a protein that makes blood red; melanin, the tan or brown coloured pigment and these are called the chromophores. These components absorb laser light of different colours.
What are the benefits of Laser Surgery?
- Improved therapeutic results
- Reduced risk of infection
- Bloodless surgery with most lasers
- An alternative to traditional scalpel surgery
- Less scarring, in most cases
- Precisely controlled surgery, which limits injury to normal skin
- Safe and effective outpatient, same-day surgery for many skin conditions
Lasers used in cosmetology & dermatology
Fractional Erb laser – Fraxel Laser treatment is a revolutionary laser treatment that helps you to remove years from your appearance. Fraxel is the pioneer of “fractional photothermolysis”, a technology in which thousands of microscopic laser columns – each just one-tenth the diameter of a hair follicle – treat a fraction of the skin at a time without affecting the surrounding tissue. These laser columns stimulate the production of younger, smoother, healthier skin to replace damaged tissue.
Co 2 laser – For skin resurfacing, acne scars, warts, corns, skin tags, moles, seborrhoeic keratoses, syringoma, and many other skin growths.
Pulsed dye laser – For vascular lesions, scars, keloids, photo rejuvenation, freckles.
Q switched Nd Yag laser – For tattoo removal, dermal and epidermal lesions, photorejuvenation.
Fractional co2 Laser – For scars and wrinkles on the face and neck, age spots or sunspots, roughness of the skin.
Nd Yag & Diode Laser For permanent hair reduction anr for removal of moles,Becker’s naevus
